"I recently stayed at Las Espuelas Hotel for 4 nights with my two daughters, and overall, we had a wonderful experience! From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The gentleman at the front desk (I didn’t catch his name) was incredibly kind and helpful, answering all of our questions throughout our stay. The property itself is beautiful, and the rooms were spotless, though we did notice a little bit of mold and had issues with cold showers. It’s worth noting that the location isn’t super walkable to attractions, but that wasn’t a major issue for us. One of the highlights of our stay was the on-site restaurant/bar. The food was fantastic, and our waiter, Carlos, was outstanding! He was so kind and patient, especially with my very picky daughter, making every dinner an enjoyable experience. Thank you to the amazing staff for making our stay so memorable! We’d love to return in the future. "

"Exceptional location with a commanding view of the Costa Rican West Coast and Pacific Ocean. Stunning sunsets from the restaurant and bar at the top of the hill. Wonderful selection of activities in and around the property, with trips to the hot springs, horseback riding, water slide, cultural demos, etc. Only shortfalls might be road access (it is very rough) and lack of a store for snacks or other necessities. "

"We strongly recommend this property for families looking to experience a bit of forest resort life in Costa Rica. Regarding the hotel itself, the bathroom was excellent - strong water pressure and high-quality toiletries. The staff were very responsive; they immediately fixed the wifi after we let them know it wasn't working and delivered blankets after reception hours. Breakfast was outstanding with a buffet of hot, cold, sweet, and savory options (there was also an omelette bar). There was a fridge but no microwave (we booked a superior room). This resort shines in its waterfalls and thermal springs. The trails to the waterfalls were impeccably maintained with attendants on hand to keep an eye on cars, take family pictures, and monitor belongings if you would like to take a dip. The thermal pools (10 pools, volcanic mud, 2 cold showers) were outstanding; there are towels and lockers available at the trailhead and attendants watching over your belongings at the actual pools. The locker rooms to change into swimsuits were well-maintained and appointed. You can book all kinds of activities at reception, but we found the included ones to be sufficient."

"Property is great, in a very natural setting some deer roaming around. Very quiet. Rooms are cabins, so not as good as hotels but the pleasure of balcony, lounging on porch is unbelievable good. You can park car right outside your room. "

"I have stayed with Hotel Guanacaste several times over the years when in Liberia.. Have noticed many improvements in that time. The hotel has always been cheap & affordable, centrally located, clean with reliable Wi-Fi. These are important to me and I will return as long as this is provided 😁"
