"Paulo, the owner, was very attentive and friendly and gave us wonderful service. We were late for check-in and Paulo greeted us after 11pm with a big smile. He gave us all the information we needed, including tips on Portuguese cuisine. The property consists of an old Portuguese house, from the 1800s. It is charming, clean, and has everything we needed for a good night's sleep."

"The house is a beautifully redone schist structure in the center of Talasnal. All the comforts of home; nicely stocked kitchen, great fireplace (heated the whole house), comfortable beds, and nice hot showers. Great hikes just walking out the front door…although we did get lost the first day. Haha. Both Joao and Alda were super responsive and so helpful. Even offering to pick us up in Candal after our very long misplaced hike. Definitely purchase any supplies before arriving as the tiny Mercado...

"We really enjoyed the cottage. It had wonderful views, great places to sit outside, relax and enjoy being in the countryside. The property owner was great and even took us to a local winery. It only took about 20 minutes to drive into Coimbra so we had the best of city and country. There also was a great local restaurant for local style food. I would definitely stay there again. "

"The house is lovely. We particularly loved the outside kitchen, dining and lounge area and we used this a great deal. The pool was also great. The house is in a good location in a small hamlet but there are no facilities there so you do need to drive everywhere. It is about 20min drive to Coimbra which is a very pretty old city and definitely worth a visit. The Atlantic coast is about 45min drive where there are beautiful long sandy beaches. The only downside for us was the proximity to the A13...

"The house was great with plenty of space. The area was stunning and very peaceful with good walks nearby. Coimbra was easy to get to. Martine and Dirk (and their dogs) were great hosts and very helpful. They provided comprehensive information on places to visit, walks, restaurants etc. which made it very easy to plan our stay."
