"I gave 4 stars on cleanliness due to hallway floors being very dirty. No white socks remained. Communications were horrible due to phone being very static filled. Master bedroom lamp was broken. Exchanged it with one from another bedroom. TV remote controls need new batteries. Otherwise, very nice place."

"We made a great choice in choosing the Riverfront Retreat for our Thanksgiving celebration. The large dining table fit our group and its close proximity to the kitchen made serving and cleanup a breeze. One bedroom is set apart from the others which worked perfectly for one couple who ducked out at 5am to catch a flight out of Dulles (about an hours drive) without disturbing others in the group. We enjoyed hiking in Seven Bends State Park and even toured the Shenandoah Caverns (a short drive)....

"This was a great spot for a college reunion of 10 guys. We jump around from year to year, but are planning to come back here. We were all amazed at the construction of the main house and it's giant pine logs. (Suggestion: hire a professional photographer to represent the place better on this site.) "Hubby and I were in town for a wedding with our 21 year old son. We were walking distance from some great local stops and just a short drive from anything we needed and plenty to do. Next trip we’d like to take advantage of hiking options we didn’t have time for this trip. Sooooo much better than a hotel, this place is loaded with character and comfort touches a plenty and provided everyone a nice balance of privacy and togetherness! Great stay!"

"The house was a beautiful, old farmhouse house. There were notes all around, giving clear guidance on where things were located. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. "This cabin is amazing! Very authentic, mountain cabin and a more modern basement for variety. We loved it! Only issues were minor, such as low water pressure, especially when more than one of us was showering, no hot water in the downstairs shower, and ants on the kitchen counter, but no biggies, we still loved it and would do it again! Hopefully we’ll get back someday!"

"We experienced the beauty of a mountain snowstorm and it was awesome! We enjoyed the gorgeous view sitting by the fireplace and feeling super cozy. Nina the owner was so thoughtful, checking on us, suggesting a good place for our car during the storm so that we wouldn’t get stuck when it came time to go home, even cleaning our car off for us! That was above and beyond—thank you, Nina. The cabin is as pictured and well appointed. We plan to return here. "
