"I would like to have given 5 star for service as when we ordered food from the bar the staff were attentive, polite and very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. However earlier in the evening I called the restaurant from the room to book a table, when I had only said hello I was met with a very abrupt ‘the line is terrible’ to which I stated ‘I’m sorry I’m calling from one of the phones in the rooms’. I then proceeded to request a table and again very abruptly told we have nothing until 8.30/8.45. I really felt like it was too much trouble and didn’t feel welcomed at all. I booked the table initially for 6 people, we were I fact part of a lager group of around 20 people staying at the hotel for an event we were attending the next day. Having spoke to the other people in the party we decided against it and ate from the bar instead. I would not recommend anyone to book to dine at the restaurant based on this encounter. Also may I add that most of the tables were not occupied from around 7pm until the time we were told we could eat from so I don’t understand why we couldn’t get a reservation either. Very disappointing experience. "

"Views of the Tyne and spacious seating area in the foyer. Liked jacket potato with spicey b Chilli beef. My wife had haddock and chips BUT she was not convinced that it was haddock. "

"Clean and comfortable hotel, staff were friendly and helpful when checking in. Decent amenities in room and fairly modern. Hotel is only a 20 minute walk from Newcastle city centre. All in all a great choice"
