"Privately-owned, and service reflects this. Staff are extremely friendly and efficient throughout. The restaurant is first class, with an exciting menu, and the food was very good indeed. The hotel feels modern with an elegant design, yet obviously has history. The "new" extensions complement the old. My only concern (and mild disappointment) was the shower which takes a long time to get going and was just a little cramped. Otherwise, the room was fantastic and most importantly, the bed...

"Fantastic stay at Oulton Hall, much better than Slaley Hall in our opinions. Very pleasant staff and little touches to make you feel welcome like the complementary drinks in the fridge and Prosecco and fruit in reception.
