"We stayed here as a couple but also as part of a larger family group, including my niece and nephew (12 and 8 respectively). Our room was the Illingworth room. It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. "10 out of 10 there was nothing you could fault. The area is amazing with beautiful scenery. The hotel is stunning. Upon arrival the staff were warm and friendly and this continued through the whole weekend. The room was huge with a massive bed. "We have had a lovely stay at The Bay Horse Inn. Very cosy sat in the bar atea with the coal fire lit. Our room was spacious and comfortable bed. The food is excellent and i can recommend the lamb shank. We will definitely stay again."

"Amazing. Right from the start the staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. Food was delicious - we ate at the hotel for dinner - having the 'pigs' in blanket sharing starter and then both steak pies. Next morning - breakfast was great - although there was no 'bacon' for us - the server compensated by offering us additional sausages - so it wasn't too much of a disappointment. "

"Really enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that the dinner menu was the same each night. The staff were very friendly and polite. A very dog friendly hotel too - you had the option to have meals in a nice room with your dog - this isn’t the case in some dog friendly hotels. Would stay again."

The ambience & the decor is beautiful but it was the service we received by all of the staff and the food which was the highlight of our trip. "Local, family managed hotel, located on a beautiful spot of the river. Lovely vibe, and welcoming and the breakfast was exceptional!! It’s not a Holiday Inn /Marriott formulaic residence, much more of an authentic local hotel, so without some of the frills, but the honest warm welcome and great food more than makes up"
