"Dated room with peeling wallpaper, lukewarm water, and small uncomfortable bed. Certainly not worth £90. Dinner was shocking, and can only be described as a congealed bowl of slob. Meals were returned to the kitchen uneaten, but the £26 were not refunded. Breakfast was ok, but served on a dirty table with last night's drink stains on it. The only saving grace were the friendly and welcoming staff."

"This hotel is very conveniently located right next to York Barbican. I had an event there so this hotel was a great choice. The staff were prompt and friendly, and explained everything well. The property is very secure with the gate locked and a code required to unlock and access the building. I felt very safe! Everyone staying at the hotel was considerate and quiet. "The rooms are above a pub, in a convenient location. They are alongside the York art gallery and a very short walk to the Minster. There are a number of pubs and restaurants within a short walk as you would expect. The White Horse is only around 10 minutes walk from the station on well lit busy streets. "Nice pub, our room was above bar so you could hear the bar below, it's a pub at the end of the day so you have to expect some noise. Room clean and tidy bed comfy shower good and hot, tea making facilities tea bags wont replenished. For the price of room it was value for money.
