We found it well appointed with all of the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay and I love that the updates did not take away from the historic charm. "We recently stayed at this house in Marlinton for a week, while bicycling and exploring the Greenbrier River Trail. Marlinton is about midway along the trail, making access to all parts of the trail easier. The house has been completely upgraded from its original role as a home to a family, probably connected to the logging or mining activities of a century ago. Doors, windows, floors, walls, ceilings, etc have all been replaced, along with all the appliances, so that the house feels very modern...

"Beautiful rustic location on a mountain river. Everything provided for rafting, kayaking, or fishing—or just relaxing and enjoying the views. Perfect location for motorcycle riding the “Back Roads Discovery Route” with winding country roads and challenging Forest Service trails. Easy parking for our trailers. Fire pit to finish off the evenings with a campfire by the river. Great hosts with easy self check in."
