"Truly, this resort is a romantic gem, in a spectacular location! We stayed 3 nights, including 3 breakfasts (guava pancakes are yum), and 2 dinners (try the mofongo!). The ocean-front views were always wonderful: beautiful and relaxing. The pool was delightful, and we were pleased to learn horses no longer roam the property or drink from the pool. The dirt road in is quite pot-holy, and the stairway to the beach is closed due to erosion. Our only excursion was a great nighttime boat tour on the bioluminescent bay. Esperanza for us was more enjoyable in the daytime than late at night. Blue Horizon feels remote, but the destination is well worth the ferry and drive to get there."

"The staff are great with welcoming us warmly! They explain the things to do in Vieques, and it helps us get to know about them. We are deaf, and they have no problem communicating with us through the notes app. The view is so beautiful, but it is not easy to walk. I do not recommend walking to Sea Gate from the Ferry. I would recommend this place to my friends and family! "

"We loved Hix Island House!! It was quiet, except for nature sounds, and peaceful. Our unit had everything we needed and nothing we didn’t, a comfortable bed with mosquito netting, (I never saw a mosquito or a fly), fridge, 2 burner stove, basic kitchen supplies, plenty of thick towels, ceiling fan, (no air conditioning but it wasn’t needed) and an outside shower. The breakfast supplies were much appreciated and were restocked every other day. We enjoyed the refreshing swimming pool and the spacious grounds. We also appreciated the free use of beach towels, chairs, umbrella and a bag cooler. And we enjoyed learning the fascinating history of Hix. If we return to Vieques, we will stay there again. "
