The house was clean and spacious but we spent most of our time outside on the covered deck- our favorite part of the house. We love that the home was dog friendly- our pup loved lounging on the covered deck and dock with us. Sorry we weren't there long enough to enjoy the patio firepit or fireplaces. Anna (Host) was magnificent and very responsive when looking to book last minute. Suffice to say there was lots of booze drunk, full trash in the many bathrooms and a kitchen full of food after our four days of a party of 22!! We had a blast and the vibe and river were perfect. "We stayed 3 nights for bike riding on the Virginia-Capital Trail. The location is almost mid-way between Richmond and Williamsburg, directly across from the trail on the John Tyler Memorial Hwy. The amenities were just right: a good sleep, hot shower, comfortable living room for reading or TV. The kitchen/living room makes eating-in easy, but there are also local eateries that provide good, classical food. "My wife, son, and 2 dogs stayed here over Thanksgiving and enjoyed our stay. Communication with Delores was easy and she was very responsive. The back yard was great, my son and 2 dogs had a blast playing in all the leaves and there was plenty of space for them to run around. The inside of the home is dated and because of that can seem not as clean as it actually is.
