"The positives: wonderfully renovated large classic old home. We stayed in the large downstairs adjoining rooms (units C&D). My sister-in-law was joining my wife and I to see their family in Sandusky. Room(s) were beautiful. Beds were comfortable. Nice little kitchen; had a washer/dryer. Price was good. The negatives (quirks): There's no staff; it's all automated. We stayed there in January 2025 and there was snow and ice, and no one to shovel the snow or sweep off the stairs or walkways -...

"The hotel is lovely—very unique and nicely furnished. My only complaint is the pet fees—we were told that we needed to pay $25/day/pet. That’s totally reasonable. When we checked in however, we were told there was an additional $75/per dog non-refundable deposit, that meant we paid $200just for our dogs!! That’s almost the cost of the room. Note to pet owners be very specific when asking about pet fees!!"

"Really nice rooms I mean if you have claustrophobic people with you they will be safe here. Very large room with everything you need on site. Not far from the mall or theme parks. Free chocolate, wine, and local craft beers complimented. Would stay again if in the area."

"Weekend trip with friends, had unit 6&5 that was connected by the private balcony. Weather was beautiful and after visiting a nearby winery for a tasting and lunch we walked around downtown!!! Did some axe throwing and bar hoping!!! Only complaint is shower water pressure. "

"Just enjoyed our second time visiting this property; and again, had a great stay! We’re a group of 16 that connect each winter for a long weekend of fun, food, and hanging out - and this property couldn’t be more accommodating! This property offers comfort and space for a great getaway - including a large commercial kitchen; theater and game rooms, and various sitting rooms to just chill/relax.And the hosts provide very well for their guests - many unexpected conveniences are provided that we’ve not seen in other rentals, making stays here extremely comfortable.Thanks again for great getaway!!"

Cozy and Clean Stay Near Sandusky, but a Few Hiccups

"We stayed at this home while visiting friends in Sandusky, and overall, it was a great spot for our group of six adults and a baby. The house was clean, cute, and spacious enough for everyone to feel comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything needed to cook meals, which was a nice touch.However, there were a few downsides. The internet password wasn’t posted anywhere, and the host didn’t respond until the next day. Communication through the VRBO app worked better than the contact info provided in the email. Also, there were no TVs in the bedrooms—not a big deal for my husband and me, but our older kids (18-19) weren’t thrilled. The house only had one designated parking spot, so the rest of us had to park on the street.One major issue was the temperature at night. The heat automatically dropped to 60 degrees, which made for a freezing night until we manually turned it back up. More towels would have been nice, but for a short two-night stay, it wasn’t a huge problem.Despite the minor inconveniences, the home itself was charming and made for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed our trip, especially driving to Port Clinton and taking in the beautiful views of the lake. With a few small improvements, this rental could be even better!"

"This place was perfect for our family. Perfect area for the ahort drive the the water park. Owners were friendly and answered us promptly. Hughly recommend staying there if you have the chance and will definitely be going back! "

Perfect location, Comfortable home

"We enjoyed our stay at this house, even though we were not there much. We were moving our daughter out of her apartment as she was going back to school and needed a place to stay for that. House is comfortable and served our quick stay. We liked the little touches of hospitality, easy location to many things, quiet location (other than the trains early in the morning, but those were not that bad once you realized what the sound was). FYI if you stay in the winter, the street doesn't get treated right away, so it's a bit slippery getting out of the neighborhood. "
