" A short distsnce outside Potes, nice chalet style hotel. Clean & basic, but comfortable with lounge & garden that caught the evening sun. Nearby restaurant was closed the night we stayed. WiFi signal needs boosting to reach all rooms, but was fine in lounge area, near reception. Friendly & efficient staff. Continental breakfast was included in the room rate."

"This small hotel was the highlight of our trip. The owner greeted us, gave us a tour, and made to he best breakfast we had in either France or Spain. We loved the quiet locale and rural surroundings, and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. "

"Excellent property. Only drawback would be you can hear upstairs neighbors. Moving chairs, doing laundry, people talking, even dogs crying. Lovely town, easily walkable. "

"Difficult to locate, parking is a long walk away up and down cobble-stone streets, check-in is complicated, the apartment name is not as advertised, the nearby church bells sound on the hour. Given the cost and problems it is not good value for money - better to stay at the nearby Parador. Can fully recommend Santillana."

"Estancia ideal. Dueños encantadores. La casa tiene de todo. Las terrazas ideales para tomar algo. Con espacio. Los niños fliparon con los juguetes. Y está cerca de muchas cosas. La recomiendo sin ninguna duda!!"

"Reading some previous us reviews I am not sure what some people are expecting when they book an historic hotel? This is a beautiful individual old building furnished in a delightful appropriate manner. Yes, it is a little dark but that's how it was 500 years ago. We were welcomed by Eva and shown where to park. All the staff could not have been more helpful. It has a lovely little bar and serves a lovely breakfast. The situation is right in the centre of the old town, which is wonderful to walk around after all the day visitors have left. Our room had a delightful little balcony and was very comfortable with a huge comfy bed. It is a little " noisy" creaky floorboards, water in pipes etc but that is the nature of this age of building. It was perfectly quiet overnight. We loved it and would certainly stay again. Thank you "
