"We had issues with leaking and didn’t have a sofa or bed for the 2nd night. The lady we’d been in comms with throughout check in and who had been texting us all the rules then totally ignored us. I’ve since been told her phone wasn’t working which I find strange. And then no attempt to make up for a spoilt night away. I’d expect at the price to be compensated for not having a bed to sleep in or sofa to sit on. We only stayed as it is in such a remote area we had no option. There were so many...

"We decided to stay at the cabin as it was relatively close to Alten towers. The location was beautiful, peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. On arrival we noticed there was a code lock but hadn't got a code to open the door. I called the owner and she was abrupt and gave me the code. The kids then wanted to go into the hot tub but found it was hardly bubbling and obviously wasn't working properly. Later that night i noticed there was no logs for the log burner. "The lodge was perfect for 2 couples and a great base for walking in the Peak District. The lodge its self was clean and cosy and had the bonus of the hot tub to sooth achy limbs! Check in was very simple and secure & communication with the manager was fantastic and very prompt. There is a great pub 15 mins walk from the lodge The Plough Inn, which server great food , I would recommend booking to eat there as it was very busy. "Great modern building with spacious rooms. The bathroom was luxurious - featuring a bathtub and separate shower. The soaps smelled wonderful Also - nods to the bands New Order and Joy Division throughout the property "

The best place to stay in Central Manchester !

"What a fantastic place to stay in central Manchester ! The hotel was super comfortable, spacious and relaxed. Spotlessly clean and the breakfast had so much choice and was excellent all round. However, by far the standout part of our stay at The Alan was…….the staff. James and his team were outstanding and made is feel incredibly welcome, nothing was too much trouble and all the restaurant and bar staff were amazing too. Great job everyone! "

Perfect stay

"Absolutely stunning hotel. The rooms are unreal, very comfortable bed. Bathroom was amazing and very clean and spacious. Wonderful staff. I can’t wait to return soon hopefully. Would highly recommend. Perfect location, especially if going to see a show. Just a walk across the road from the Theatre as well as Oxford Road station."

"Great location, great staff on site. However, telephoning in advance about the parking discount was inconsistent and wrong. The staff onsite did rectify in a manner, which was good but staff need to be trained to all understand and give the same information"

Holiday Inn Manchester - City Centre, an IHG Hotel

Excellent pre-Christmas break

"We arrived far too early for check in but the staff still tried to find us a room. This wasn’t necessary as we were planning to explore the city. But as soon as we arrived the lobby, reception, and restaurant were all very well maintained and decorated charmingly for the Christmas period. Our room was spacious and comfy with tea, coffee, snacks and quality shower products provided. We ended up having our evening meal in the restaurant and both the service and food were great. Breakfast wasn’t quite so good due to the volume of guests waiting for hot food. Nether the less, the food on offer was still tasty. So overall we had a great trip, just a shame about the Manchester weather. "
