"Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."

"Cottage is a good standard, great for a pit stop. Stayed for 2 nights. Very impressed with the Willow restaurant, gorgeous food. Piping hot, seems to be a theme around these parts, something I really appreciate! A bit disappointed that breakfast was only served until 9:30. "

"Really enjoyed our stay at this lovely property while visiting family nearby. It had everything you need and nice decor. Owner quick to respond and to small problem. Would stay again and recommend. The only small negative were that directions weren't clear for our late arrival."

"Lovely property in a peaceful location with fantastic views over the reservoir and up the valley. Perfect for our stay and with a secure store for bikes. Some fantastic rides up on the moors. Excellent and friendly host. Only downside was all local pubs don’t open on Monday or Tuesday so take food or be prepared to drive to Pateley Bridge."

"We were a bit disappointed that the lift was not working and seemingly has been out of action since the beginning of December. We would not have booked the flat had we known this as we are in our late seventies and my husbands found the stairs a bit of a problem. Although the housekeeper did her best to solve the problem with the heating it remains uncontrollable. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the flat once these issues have been resolved. "
