"It was my wife’s birthday and our anniversary. In our room we were welcomed with an as requested nonalcoholic champagne, chocolate, and other goodies. This was above and beyond and we really appreciated it. There was a water issue that couldn’t be fixed in our original room and we were quickly upgraded to a nicer room. Loved the morning, free breakfast options!"

"Fun to stay in a place with so much history, literally staying in a museum. Rooms are stunning but be aware that this is a historic mansion so there are some quirks. Bathrooms with 14-foot ceilings take a while to heat up!"

"While there, we had a regional, power blackout. Staff was wonderful. Bar was open, so we hung out there. We had dinner in an adjacent city. When we returned, all was OK. We also loved the conversations we overheard which focused on the college. Not why we were there, but it added interest."

"Booked as an overnight stop for my wife and me returning home to Salamanca, NY from Cape Cod. Was pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms and the comfortable bed. But the real gem was the adjacent restaurant. Incredible menu at very reasonable prices. Will definite book again if we're in the area!"

"No…. This is Mount Vision. But my spouse & I were overwhelmed by the spacious beauty of the property. Look off to the right for an Amazing sunrise & then after a fun day in Cooperstown… look to your left for an Amazing sunset! If you’re into it there’s a smart TV w/ awesome Apps. A “make your vacation” fireplace & of course seclusion if you desire that. I had a problem lighting the bbq so called the owner & he fixed it in a flash! Nice guy as well I think. Now if there were any “cons” there were 2. First the kitchen area was “clean” but if you’re a germ nut it wasn’t “eat off the counter” spotless so to be quite honest we did like 5 minutes of cleaning ourselves & that’s all it took!! That’s it! The other “con” is that you have to travel to get anything at all. We followed GPS to get to a General Store only to find that it seems it’s been closed for years. We went all the way back to Cooperstown to buy something (about 25 mins.) & maybe thrre was a better alternative but we didn’t want to bother the owner again. Bottom line we left saying: “gee.. I wonder what he’d take to buy this place!!???” We loved this place!"

"The hotel itself is excellent, but transportation is a pain because of the lack of Lyfts and Ubers around. The walk is safe though and nice from the college campus, but be aware of walking a lot. "
