"The Cove/La Ensenada is a small gated oasis of spacious, well-appointed, air-conditioned apartments nestled in a small cove on the north side of Samana Bay. "We were looking for a nice place to spend to escape the colder winter months of US. We found a great treasure here. Took a few days to settle into the culture and lifestyle in the area but it was a beautiful experience. If you’re not native to the area and looking for a great relaxing vacation, in my opinion, this is not the area or place. Go to a resort. For anyone staying 2 plus weeks it can be outstanding! "The service and personnel were excepcional, but the place is loosing quality for a 5-star hotel. For example, the bathroom we stayed in did not reflect the standard (was repaired with very bad finishing), the TV is old with not-so-good image quality, and both the "a la carte" restaurants were closed during our stay. Soon it could loose the 5-Star rating hotel if changes are not made."
