"The hotel is very well place for those wishing to explore the city. Little India and Chinatown are fairly close and that's a relief as there are no alcohol sales in the hotel for thirsty guests. This is not mentioned on any site to our knowledge. The rooms are fine, the wifi powerful, and the value is good, But when the place is full, a gloomy secondary dining room is used for breakfast that is huge and warehouse-like, with curtains firmly drawn to hide the dirty windows. "Good location to get about in George town. Plenty of lical street food within walking distance. Water dispenser along the corridor if each level. Good view of the city skyline at the swimming pool level. ( top floor).Room is compact. Reasonably priced for size of room. Will stay there again. "

"It is located in the centre of the city, lots of restaurant and dessert place around the area.extremly convenient traveling by foot.unfortunately, we found stains on our bed sheet and the washroom has a foul bowel smell. some hairs and dust were evident to the eye across the room but very spacious. no hand soap was provided so we purchased our own."

"This was the second time we stayed at the Ascott within a month. We were in Penang for over three weeks to celebrate the Chinese New Year with our family in Penang. We decided to stay here again on the same trip. We like the amenities offered by Ascott such as the in-room washer and dryer, spacious room layout and excellent staff service. We walked to Gurney Plaza shopping mall and avoided the headaches of finding parking in the crowded shopping mall garage. This is a great hotel and we will certainly stay here again in the future."
