"Wonderful experience! A stately & historical large ryokan nested on the eastern hill slope of Gero town. My second stay at this ryokan & will continue to stay there next time I am in Gero. Very good vista of the town in the morning or evening. Very large garden & landscape, with tall tress & seasonal flower trees.or bushes.. a beautiful & varied feast for the eyes & senses if one come at different seasons... Has its own hotel museum to showcase it's checkered history & early artifacts, etc....

"I recently spent 3 nights at the Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan and loved it. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. The whole experience from the room to the food and onsen gave me a really good insight in to Japanese culture. Property is very central, close to old town and restaurants. I tried both the Japanese and American breakfasts and liked both. "We loved this Ryokan! Very cute Japanese style rooms, we stayed in one with a private bath and it was spacious. Great location, walking distance to everything. Really Good value for price and for an authentic stay."

"Nice hotel beside the river with a view of the castle. Nice onsen with a view too. Room was Japanese style and big for a family of 3. Interesting concept of no footwear in your room, you had to leave you shoes at the reception before you enter your room. "

"Good location, near train station. Room is small, but very clean. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom and shower are on the same floor. We’re not problem to use. "
