"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Governor's Gargula. We received excellent service from the staff and the food was exceptional. The hotel is located about 6 Km outside of Dambulla and used this hotel as a base to visit many of the sites in the area (Dambula Caves, Sigiriya (Lion's) Rock, and Ruins of Polonnaruwala). Not really walkable to anywhere but most of these sites have to be driven to anyway. I would highly recommend this hotel."

No apology, had to haggle with Expedia customer sercice for obtain refund (because obviously the booking was non-cancellableat the point they cancelled on me).. Less than impressed ans cant recommend."

Heinz was most helpful in sugges outings and arranging driver. "The staff were excellent and extraordinary welcoming. We are an elderly couple and the staff took care of us like we were their own children. The chief went out of his way to ask me what food I liked and cooked it especially just to make us feel welcome. That was not necessary but the warmth of the team made our holiday excellent.
