"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Governor's Gargula. We received excellent service from the staff and the food was exceptional. The hotel is located about 6 Km outside of Dambulla and used this hotel as a base to visit many of the sites in the area (Dambula Caves, Sigiriya (Lion's) Rock, and Ruins of Polonnaruwala). Not really walkable to anywhere but most of these sites have to be driven to anyway. I would highly recommend this hotel."

A few niggles: Breakfasts like all in Sri Lanka could use some tweaking with toast presented first to go cold and items not offered but available such as tomatoes or bacon: readily provided when requested.
