Adventure Hotels in Dambulla from SAR 135

"Although this is an excellent review I have to say I was a bit surprised at the size of the pools. I like to swim laps but the pools were smaller than I'd thought. My fault, of course (lack of blueprints!). One pool seems to have been given over to the monkeys (lucky them!) which was interesting. But perhaps it was seasonal? Anyway, if you're expecting to swim laps lower those expectations and just enjoy the spectacular view from the infinity perspective of the pool...."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Governor's Gargula. We received excellent service from the staff and the food was exceptional. The hotel is located about 6 Km outside of Dambulla and used this hotel as a base to visit many of the sites in the area (Dambula Caves, Sigiriya (Lion's) Rock, and Ruins of Polonnaruwala). Not really walkable to anywhere but most of these sites have to be driven to anyway. I would highly recommend this hotel."

"It's the grounds that made me fall in love with this place. Intimate & beautiful but big enough that you can stretch out your legs by strolling through well cared for gardens. Lots of flowers. A small bubbling river wraps around the property & there is this perfect spot along the river where you can sit on a bench and take in the sounds of the forest and the view of mountains in the distance. Pure bliss! The hotel itself is close to the main highway, but tucked just far enough back from the road...

"Property cancelled on us with less than 24hours before check-in (due to a maintenance issue, no further explanation given). No apology, had to haggle with Expedia customer sercice for obtain refund (because obviously the booking was non-cancellableat the point they cancelled on me).. Less than impressed ans cant recommend."
