We met with the manager Lucas the following morning who was extremely concerned and apologetic. In a matter of minutes he made us feel comfortable and handled the situation well. "Great location in centre of Kells with convenient secure parking to the rear of the hotel. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff on the front desk. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable in the newer rear block of the hotel. Our only small gripe was that the hallways and the rooms were far too hot for our liking! I had a reservation for 2 nights, rec'd numerous emails from hotels.com about it (including the one linking to this survey) only to get there and be told the B&B closed in Nov 2022 and there was no lodging to be had. They literally laughed when we walked in. I contacted hotels.com online, only to be told they couldn't help.
