Pet-friendly Hotels in Cat Island from SAR 450

"We stayed here with 6 people (group of 3 moms and 3 daughters) for our daughters’ senior spring break trip. We were looking for something that wasn’t going to be touristy, but that was every bit a paradise. This was exactly what we were looking for! Know that when you arrive, this is a quiet island that may not hold as many amenities as you may be used to….but it is so worth it. It is safe, quiet, and serene. I do have to say that Harrison, the caretaker, was unanimously the favorite part of the girls’ trip. The moms strongly agree!! He is an amazing, kind, and charismatic human that made our trip incredibly special. Stephanie has put together an informative packet that we found very helpful, but we did have one suggestion that we would recommend. When leaving the airport, there is a grocery store that you can reach by making a right. It is called Alvernia food store, and the atmosphere was friendly, and they had a much larger selection if you intend to cook at house. Within our group, we had some people that liked to explore, and some that liked to stay at the house. The house was amazing enough that you never have to leave if you don’t wish to. She also warns about the no seeums, and if there is not a breeze, you need to make sure that you are wearing a bug spray with deet. They are pretty brutal. If there is a breeze, you will be fine. We also highly recommend having Harrison cook for you as it was very convenient, especially on our first night. 100% recommend!!"

"Cat’s Cove was an excellent place for our family gathering right on the ocean. The adult kids enjoyed the snorkeling right out front. The older gals loved the kayaks and swimming. It was perfect for the family of 6. This was my fourth time back to Cat Island and the first time in Pigeon cay. I loved the central location on the island. The home was everything we expected and was so relaxing. The owners and property managers were exceptional! We will be back! "

"The ocean view is the trump card of Ocean View Coral. The living area (kitchen, dining table comfy seating) all share an unobstructed view of powder white sand beach, gorgeous blue water dotted with coral formations and palm trees and sea grass along the sand dunes. The expansive ocean facing deck runs the full width of the villa and can be accessed from the 2 spacious ensuite bedrooms as well as the living area. Another plus is the restaurant at Greenwood Resort which is a 20 minute walk along the beach or 5 minute drive. We enjoyed several dinners there and took a great snorkel trip with Antoine.The villa is well equipped and well maintained, although it needs a generator. We were without power 2 mornings, which meant no water from the taps. I would advise arranging with Lana the property manager to have the villa pre-stocked with groceries and water or shop in New Bight immediately when you land. Driving is a challenge due to road conditions. But the endless beach, beautiful ocean and stunning sunrises in front of Ocean View Coral and the beautiful people of Cat Island made our trip unforgettable."

"Relaxed, beautiful beach views, lulled to sleep nightly to the sound of the surf, with a full kitchen, two bedrooms each with double (full) beds, two very nice bath/shower room. Manager two properties down and so responsive and helpful (wife broke her foot on the trip, and they were so gracious to find some crutches for her. Locals friendly, open.We recommend it highly."

"We were looking for a place to stay that was comfortable but far away from resorts and other people. That is exactly what we got! Nancy and her caretaker were both very responsive and helpful. For those new to Cat Island they both provide important and helpful context on how to prepare for the trip and what to expect- even including tips on getting there from Nassau. The setting is just so gorgeous and you have like a 100m of beach to yourself. I think in two weeks we saw three people. When we felt like some company we walked 100m to the Pink Chicken bar for some excellent fish and conch... and a few beers. The snorkelling off the beach was fantastic. So many fish including a very large and curious baracuda. The house itself is completely modern and has everything one could ask for. We will be back."

"We had stayed at Shanna's Cove next door in the past. This house was perfect for a family of 4. We had the best beach and access to Shanna's Cove resort for dinner all week. It truly was the best of both worlds. Patti was great and was quick to respond. Would love to come back next year."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Banana Wind. I highly recommend having Mr. Harrison King prepare dinner for your first night. I recommend renting an SUV or something other than a car. The roads are terrible…everywhere "

"One of the most beautiful places ever. Bring long sleeves and pants if you are someone who is irritates by sand fly bites-- regular deet wont cut it! Meal there was lovely-- perfect spot!!"
