"The medieval city of Carcossonne is amazing, like stepping back in time, and staying at the Hotel De La Cite just contributes to this feeling (although only build in 1880's). A grand, imposing building directly opposite the Basilicca puts it at the heart of the old city. "Travelling through France & stayed here for a night. A wonderful place to stay, we had a little villa all to ourselves. Spotlessly clean, comfortable & issues with a lock quickly remedied. Local restaurants were closed on Monday but an Intermarché nearby ensured we had everything needed to cook a meal.
