"It wasn’t made clear on hotels.com that this bnb is in the middle of major renovations. The rooms were completed, but the outside and windows were in major need of work and confused us when we got there. When we looked at the properties website later, it did mention the construction. The owners were nice, but somewhat disorganized and there were spaces that were full of supplies and trash from construction in view. "Me and my mom came for a 2 day trip. We were immediately greeted by the Innkeeper who was very friendly and showed us to our room. Check in was a breeze. The place is fantastic and has a lot of history. The breakfast was great as well, the innkeeper went above and beyond. 10/10 recommend and would stay here again. "

"Innkeeper Kerrie was kind and overall helpful. The building is beautiful. She has generally concerned about our ability to get to the third floor and helped us relocate to the coach house. One TV didn’t work in the space and the lighting in the coach house was pretty dim. The breakfast was good and she was willing to accommodate our special dietary needs. I do feel like some aspects of the house and yard could have been cleaner. Parking can be a challenge. "

"My wife and I truly loved staying at the Aldrich House. The service was top notch!! Great conversations, great breakfast! Very clean and tidy! Owners went over and above to please. Also had a great happy hour in screen porch area. Richard and Douglas were the Bomb!! Would definitely like to do again soon."

"As I had found that this property was once owned by my 3X great granduncles I was fascinated by the history and walked in their footsteps. As I descended the original, narrow stairs with the low hand rails I imagined the original women in their high button shoes and hoop skirts more gracefully than me maneuvering them daily. "We had a great stay for a little family retreat in off-season Galena. By renting both suites, we essentially had the house to ourself (less the kitchen proper) which was a wonderful surprise (and pleasant when traveling with kids!) Breakfast was wonderful both days and Kate did an amazing job of giving instruction and making sure we had everything that we needed."

"Chris and Resa run a wonderful B&B! The house itself is beautiful, and if you like seeing original architectural details of historic buildings, this is the place for you. Breakfast was delicious, and it was hard to pick what our favorite meal was. After a day of shopping on Main Street, it was nice to come back to the house for a charcuterie plate and cookies (both different every day!) and wine. My favorite touch was a homemade brownie waiting for us when we checked into our room - delicious!"

"We had a great time Thrift shopping, enjoying the Fall scenery, and the peaceful quiet of the Farm house location. We were not lacking in anything I can think of. In fact I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the game tables and light house more. This is a Cozy Home! I do need to recommend Louisburg Junction Supper Club. You will want reservations. "

"The property and surrounding area is beautiful and well maintained. The kitchen is supplied with all the is needed. The view is spectacular and the hot tub is wonderful. Great view from the mbr and a comfy king bed. We enjoyed the fireplace on a chilly November evening. We will definitely rebook on a future trip to Galena."

Just what we needed

"The room had everything we needed including a fridge and microwave. We also enjoyed the comfort of the beds and the quiet atmosphere. It was a very clean room as well. Nice staff to greet us and answer any questions. Very welcoming entryway/lobby area. The only downfall for me was very little options for breakfast that were low carb. My son loved his waffle, though! "

"My stay was great. Everything was clean. You could tell the property had been around a while but it was kept up. The only issue I had was a slumber party of little girls running around and using the pool unattended but the hotel addressed it before there was need for a call. Breakfast was great"
