"A traditional pub with rooms-fabulous food,all the staff are really friendly and welcoming. The room was a decent size with a small but adequate bathroom. Furnished in keeping with the age and style of an old pub but all very clean. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a larger and more comfortable bed. Breakfast cooked to order which was delicious. Free parking. Bus stop outside to go to either Whitby or Scarborough for £2! Cheaper than town centre parking. The B & B rate is great value for money. I would have no hesitation in returning or recommending. "

"On one side, this hotel looks out over a car park, on the other side over the sea or the harbour + abbey. You pay extra for views, but it is worth it: it is the best view you are going to get anywhere in Whitby. As for the hotel itself: it is showing its age, but has been well maintained e.g. updated bathrooms, beds are comfortable and exceptionally large. Good restaurant too. We were very happy there. Only minor complaint is no thermostatic valve on the showers. Other than that, this hotel is excellent."

Slight improvements could be a fridge and dustpan in sheperds hut and a bin in back garden. Thanks for an wonderful weekend."

"This was a great find in N.Yorks , a quiet village in the Yorkshire Wolds and a good base to head out from for the coast or nearby Malton. The hotel had a great selection of Gin and Champagne. Champagne in a hot tub what could be better.. we took home some lasting memories...and a thirst for more Champagne 😁 Must not forget the food...if only my belly was bigger 😋 Thank you Karl, Julia for being great hosts!"
