"We booked a balcony room, the “balcony” was barely bigger than the size of my foot, not worth the upgrade at all. The room was clean and got cleaned daily. A little sketchy checking in as you need to go through 3 locked doors (unlocked with a key fob) an elevator with a key code, and then a normal key to get into your room. Much, much different than a hotel. With that being said, the staff was super friendly and nice and the owner did give us some really good recommendations for places to eat...

"Michaelangelo helped us every step of the way and even went out of his way to help us check in. He was amazing, thank you! The place is extremely clean, beautiful rooms, the beds are very comfortable, and the location is perfect for those who want to be near the downtown area. I highly recommend this stay and do yourself a favor and try the strawberry gelato at Bar Cipriani--you haven't tried a strawberry until you have tried this. Absolutely wonderful stay!!! "

Not easily accessible from City Center; we took the 534 bus and then had to get a taxi the rest of the way, 90euros for 2 taxis. Our airport transfer was 120euros for 2 taxis. "This hotel was very nice - it was very clean, very modern decor. The amenities were very nice, the breakfast was excellent. It was close to the Mt Etna tour which we took. Small drawbacks were a lack of blankets in the room, and the staff did not speak a lot of English. That was fine, we worked it out, but it was noticeable. I would definitely stay here again."

"Check in was a nightmare. Family was supposed to meet host at airport with a cot - but he was no where to be found. Directions to villa were very scattered but finally arrived met by housekeeper and shown around the villa. It was old and in need of some updating but very comfortable for our party of 10. Beds and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Pool was lovely although it was still warm enough to swim in the sea. All in all a wonderful holiday."
