"The house is located in a nice, quiet, neighborhood on a narrow cobblestone street. We spent most of our time on the patio which is beautifully landscaped with succulents and flowering plants. João, the host, was very quick to respond to any questions we had. You definitely need a car to get around. If you want a quiet getaway this is the place!"

It is away from the large Cities and perched on the side of a mountain with a beautiful view of the Douro River far below. All the mountains in the area are terraced for agriculture and housing and the roads are very narrow, often limited to one vehicle which can lead to complications if you meet head on. In many places there are no guard rails so you need to be sure you are comfortable with these driving...

"Excellent holiday home for a group. Plenty of sitting areas. Kitchen well equipped. Lots of towels supplied. The home was very clean. Mattresses not the best. No mirrors in bedrooms. Internet extremely slow and not available in some areas of the house. Could have used more umbrellas for shade at the pool. A car is definitely a must. Very steep incline from town back up to villa.
