"Staff, setting, and food were all awesome. It was a peaceful, natural hotel. Prepare for rain. It’s a part of the experience, and there were lots of breaks in the rain, even some sun around the pool in the afternoon. The night walk was unforgettable, the little town of Tortuguero so interesting, and the water transport to and from Pavona docks was so mesmerizing and unique. I loved the staff who work at Mawamba! Big shout out to the restaurant staff, chefs, and bar staff. "

"Such a beautiful place in the middle of nature. I loved their pool and food was amazing (we got the “full board” option for all of our meals paid for and it was definitely worth it, buffet style, delicious). "The bungalow was great - the kitchen was fully equipped, the porch was comfortable, the grounds were beautiful, and the hosts were very helpful and gracious. The location was walking distance to the restaurants and shops of Cahuita, as well as the beach. I would definitely stay here again, but maybe not on a Saturday night when neighbors had a very loud party lasting late into the night. "
