Douro Royal Valley Hotel & SPA
5/5 Excellent
"Booked a stay for me and my wife as a routine escape and i didn't regret it. The most exquisite views and surroundings. The Staff were impecable.
The only finger pointing I will do is some lack of maintenace. From almost broken doorknobs, elevator panels almost coming off, fissures on the walls and a hole outside on the floor at the outdoor pool leaves a sour taste to it, as it is a 5 star hotel.
Nonetheless a great experience.
Just be advised, the means of transport in the area are really scarse, and if you wish to have a nearby local dining experience you will be disappointed, as there are no nearby restaurants or even shops/supermarkets. Either you dine at the restaurant hotel, which you need previous reservation (1 Day prior) or you ask for room service, which is equally good. The bar offers lights meals as well.
Also don't forget any type of necessaire, no shops or supermarkets in the area."
