"This is the kind of gorgeous, historic property that you can only find in Europe. Details were thoughtful, the lawns and property itself were carefully maintained. The rooms themselves are all each well appointed lofts/apartments. The owner was attentive when we told her that we had to leave before breakfast so she brought a coffee tray and toasts to our room at 6am the next morning. I would suggest paying at the hotel on arrival because there was some confusion about pre-paying the rooms, but...

"There’s much to like about the Royal ... lots of large public areas with complimentary fruit and sweets ...a generous breakfast , air con , plenty of towels and fairly comfy beds and a small balcony... great location and a small pool. But it’s fairly basic rather than luxurious . Great value for money to be sure . We probably got more than we expected and I would only have one complaint..... unforgivably in Italy ... bad coffee ! "Great experience although strange as we were the only guests as it their off season. Made to feel very welcome despite the language problem as no English spoken (we were in Italy after all) until the owners’ son arrived. Great breakfast. Only adverse comment is that the location shown in Hotels.com is in the village whereas it is a couple of kilometres outside along a steep winding road."
