"The hotel is in a historic convent in which the original layout of the institution is preserved giving it a unique sense of place. My room was very large, nicely decorated with completely updated facilities."

"A beautiful hotel in an historic building just a short distance above the Plaza Mayor and away from the hubbub of that area. The staff were particularly pleasant and helpful. The updating of the hotel retained just enough of the quirkiness of the original building to give it a real sense of place."

"This is the second time I have stayed here, great deal. It is less than a minute from the monastery/main plaza of Guadalupe. Rooms are basic but not cramped, and amenities include fluffy towels, mini fridge, iron and ironing board, wall table perfect for laptop typing, hair dryer, soap etc, and both times I have had good views: town and mountains last June, and this time the monastery. I would certainly stay here again in the future."

"We have stayed at Don Carlos on several occasions. Staff are pleasant and helpful. It is clean and comfortable furnished in vintage Spanish style set in an unusual old building. Ideally located for exploring the old town. Car parking is good Cannot fault this lovely little hotel. Excellent value. "

"Stopped for one night en route to the Algarve. Very modern and clean hotel at a reasonable price. Our room (on 5th floor) was superb. Much appreciated the underground parking. Reception staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast excellent with wide choice and good value. Although out of town, easy to drive in to Caceres for an evening out. Only negative was lack of evening dining facilities. One expensive restaurant that doesn’t open until 8.30pm or bar snacks. But otherwise, extremely good."

"great place to stay with a bit of luxury. spa v nice. lovely grounds for walking dog. good breakfast.I did think that €30 for dog stay was a little pricey"

"Very squeaky beds, all 4 of them in my room. Very noisy near the elevator. I could hear people talking and yelling very clearly. Looks like the walls are not sound proof. "
