"Even though I live in the East Bay, if I’m attending an event that will end late, I prefer to stay overnight in S.F. if a good hotel rate can be found. The first place I check is the Chancellor. I usually get a decent rate. It is centrally located near Union Square. It is still owned by the same family that built it after the 1906 earthquake. It has a home & family feeling - old San Francisco. It’s a great place."

"I travel with 2 daughters, this hotel made us feel safe with the parking, the inside door entrances. My baby was getting a little sick so i gave her one of the teas of manzanilla. We ran out and I asked front desk for a couple more, she said she would send some up to our room. I did specify Manzanilla. We had a knock on the door with the tea but it was the wrong one but the gentleman was so nice with no hesitation or frustration he apologized and brought us up the right tea. I know this may sound minuscule, but anywhere else I feel like they would be bothered with such request. The house cleaning ladies were the sweetest. We stayed 3 nights and they were very accommodating. The hotel has free breakfast, FULL breakfast and complimentary snacks in the evenings. The view and walk trails is beautiful. Highly recommend this hotel. "
