"The hotel was conveniently placed for a function I was attending. I contacted the owner to discuss a slightly earlier check in..no problem at all. On arrival we were greeted and made welcome by the owner. A spacious room with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent. Top quality ingredients and all in all a great experience "

"Was amazing room, with a lot of space, bathroom was lovely and clean, bed so comfortable and a beautiful big window too look out into Leeds, there was a pub open next door but couldn’t really hear them which was great "

"There were not curtains or black out curtains on the windows. The mirror had emotion detection led lights and as I was trying to switch them off I found a syringe, thankfully without the needle. I'm very disappointed with the overall condition of the room."

"From the moment we arrived Debbie made us feel so welcome, the room was spotless, the bed was ready comfy and the room was lovely and warm. In the morning when we went for breakfast Debbie greeted us with a good morning and a smile. Breakfast was well cooked, plentiful and set us up for the day. "We stayed for 12! Days it was so good. Beautiful property in the heart of North Yorkshire - amazing selection of breakfast. Clean rooms and family-run, friendly service. Sometimes we had to ask repeatedly for clean towels - and we don’t change them everyday. Beds were old and could use updating for comfort. Otherwise - would highly recommend! "

"This is a hidden gem of a place.Surrounded by beautiful scenery.Its decorated beautifully and the swimming pool and steam room are a haven for relaxation.The Dog and Gun adjoins the hotel and offers a wide variety of meals so there is something for everyone.The landlord Michael is an exceptional host and served our Full English breakfast which was cooked to perfection.All in all i'd recommend this place.We will be back."

"I made a reservation without looking into the reviews. When I arrived and saw it from the outside, the area, the building, the curtains… it felt unsafe. Only then I looked at the reviews and ended up reserving at Holiday Inn Express which was just 10mins away. Just want to make clear that I did not even go inside."

"Such a bad check in. Took 15-20 minutes to get me into the room, which was terrible. Pictures on adverts did not represent the place. Shared bathroom with no toilet seat. Just such a bad experience. I prepaid for 2 nights and paid for another hotel second night so I didn’t have to stay. "

"Really enjoyed our relaxing stay. Lots of attention to detail. Very private spot. Weather was hot so we enjoyed the very comfy sunbeds and were able to eat outside, enjoying the afternoon/evening sunshine. The hosts had provided a large fan in the room, which was most welcome. Plenty of drinks in the fridge and various snacks in the room (crisps/chocolate) Just bring your own food. Hosts are on hand if you have any issues. We enjoyed walking along the canal & exploring Cromwell Bottom...
