We needed a room on a floor close to the ground because our three dogs who came with us and we were swiftly moved from the 5th to 2nd floor despite it being close on midnight. We then having sorted ourselves out and took the dogs for a walk from which we did not return until 2am. The night porter was extremely patient. "Room seems to have had recent refurbishment and was clean and comfortable, though not large. Common areas a bit characterless and hotel needs some sort of lounge / bar area in which to relax. Staff helpful and pleasant . Restaurant food on the whole was very good although my steak was the toughest I’ve had in a long time! "
