"The room I received was one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. It was a standard room. I realize it was November, the off season, but the rate was very reasonable as well. "Not much English spoken (Google translate to the rescue) nor on the menus, first night we went to the dining area but were escorted to the snack bar for some strange reason, WATCH OUT for the stealth “bathing/ hot springs” tax of ¥600 at check-out, even though we didn’t even use the pool or any other facilities (not a word of it when we checked in- hadn’t we been pressed for time to return the car back at Haneda I’d have refused to pay and told them to call the cops but hey…), not even a sachet...

"Sorry, perhaps I didn’t quite get what this hotel is all about but I expected better. The room smelled absolutely awful. The furniture was worn. The “view” was mangled by the rusting exterior fire escape. Parking was not convenient. There was nothing within immediate walking distance. Worst stay in our month-long roadtrip through Japan. Trust me, you can do better."
