"We didn’t get the bottle of wine and we forgot to ask for it. However, the hotel, the room and location was stunning. Specially the people who work at the hotel, they were wonderful! "The property is in a great location on the edge of the historic old town with views just outside of the valley and caves as well as the historic church of San Pietro Caveoso with the Casa Grotta. Breakfast was very good also. Just bear in mind that the property is in the city restricted zone so we had to park around 0.5 miles away and walk with our bags - would have been good if the property description mentioned this as well as pointing out where you can park. Maters is a fantastic little place...

"Location was amazing with some of the best views of Matera. One can just enjoy from the comfort of the room in the private balcony or with just windows open. While we had to carry the luggage down to the property, proper research would have suggested the public transport that we could have been used to minimize the hassle. Breakfast here was excellent with so many choices, including some fresh food. Their offer to store luggage after checkout is a good option to avail."

"The staff was fabulous; both helpful and kind. We were unaware that caves are humid, which was our naivete. Breakfast was ample. Our cave was large and had lots of places to sit comfortably, inside and out. The only reason the stay was not 100% excellent was the humidity inside the cave despite running dehumidifiers and air conditioning. Having a sweet dog on premises was a bonus!"
