"Michelle was lovely and the house is very fun with all the art. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was adequate. For us it wasn't five stars because none of the bedrooms had any side tables for the beds, there were also no side or coffee tables in the living room, the wind woke us up a couple nights and it wasnt even a storm or anything , that's the usual (obviously not anything Michelle can do about that), and the sulphur smelling hot water was really pungent (again, not the owner's...

"We had a wonderful stay here. We enjoyed the full kitchen and the hot tub. Our only complaint was the directions were not clear and we ended up at the neighbour's house. We found the rental afterwards, but had no code for the property in advance. The directions said to go to the main house for the code. We had no idea where the main house was, we couldn't see any other homes. One of us ran to 3 people on horseback riding by, who conveniently had the code. We would just suggest sending the code...

"This property, the traditional modeled modern version of an Icelandic house they built on it, its distance to both Reykjavík and Borgarnes worked for us. We caught northern lights nightly from the patio, walked the beach at low tide all in total privacy. Bara Borgarnes for dinner we had to repeat was less than a 10 min easy drive when weather was less distance friendly. The drive to Reykjavík typically took us 45 mins. The host and accommodations were spot on and you should not hesitate...

Great stop between snaelfellsnes and Thingvellir

"This was a great place. Of note, there is not much in town, and “town” is very small. There’s a grocery store that closes early, a gas station, and maybe 2-3 bars/restaurants, no other shops. But it was a good stopping place between the Thingvellir national park and the snaelfellsnes peninsula. The restaurant seemed like it could be good, it was cute; admittedly we didn’t have time to try it. The pool downstairs is about a foot deep, just for cooling down, and they have a hot tub, sauna and steam room which were all free and it was a very nice feature. The front desk is not well staffed, but they were very friendly and informative when they were there. The room was very nice, modern, and clean. Overall a great option"
