"The property was very clean and had all the amenities that made our stay incredibly relaxing. We had plans to spend time in Chattanooga but spent some time relaxing at our rental home. The hot tube was very much needed for both my wife and I. It was too cold for the pool and the lake was dried out during this time of year or we would have enjoyed spending time on the water, as well. "Overall it was a good experience, but there were a few flaws. The walls are very thin that you can hear people talk in the apartment next to it. Check in instructions were not very clear which made it difficult to get into the apartment. The decorations and amenities were good and clean. This isn’t the owner’s fault, but the fire alarm went off twice for no apparent reason (no one was cooking or doing anything that might set it off). It’s a good location. Overall 4/5 star stay. "

"Hiwassee Acres was better than I could have expected. The property was beautiful and had such a relaxing atmosphere. Kathi and David were great hosts who could be found working around the property. "The home was more beautiful than described. The view of the lake was spectactular. Enjoyed seeing so much wildlife from waterfowl, eagles, songbirds to deer from the cozy and warm den. Very private but meeting an occasional neighbor walking their dog was nice too. For those looking for a summer vacation this home would be perfect as well. I came to attend the Tennessee Sandhill Crane Festival which was great. "
