"Unfortunately my wife and I weren't quite prepared for this much of a farm stay. The outside smelled just like a fresh pile of cow poo was placed under your nose, and since our room windows were open, that smell stayed in the room for hours. It seems like multiple rooms share a shower and toilet, so people running around in towels and chatting with each other in the hall is normal. "We had previously written Memmingen off as a purely transit town - handy for the nearby airport and nothing else. This was based on the less-than-inspiring train station and it’s immediate vicinity. However, on this visit we were pleasantly surprised to discover a remarkable ’old town’ district a short walk away.
