"This property is UNSUITABLE for pilgrims, despite its close proximity to the Camino del Norte. There were no washing or drying facilities for clothes beyond ones ability to improvise in the bathroom. The owner was uncontactable and did not respond to my WhatsApp message written in Spanish. They did not have a stamp for my Credencial del Peregrino to record my stay, a necessity to prove having walked the route. There were no cooking facilities beyond a microwave and the restaurant at the hotel...

"We were 5 and stayed in the 8 beds room. The heater was switched on and beds were made when we arrived late in the afternoon. Aitor was there to welcome us and gave us a tour of the house which was recently renovated in mid 2022. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. "We loved the old school building renovated with an eye for detail and all modern comfort. The location is great, half an hour's walk from the beach. Lekeitio is a pleasant town. A wonderful base to get to know the Basque nature and culture. Anne and Kerman are very hospitable and were always available if necessary. We enjoyed our moments together...their stories and hospitality !!"

"We spent a lovely four nights here. The condo was on an upper floor, with plenty of parking at the side of the building. We used supermarkets in Durango (5-10 min drive away) for groceries. It was easy to drive into Durango and take the train to Bilbao for the day too. The kitchen had the basic things you might need (small oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, coffee machine, washer, dishwasher, but no kettle?) and the shower was pleasingly powerful. The air con was very welcome in the sticky July...
