This is a quaint, rustic cabin in a lakeside community without paved roads (the cabin is a short distance from the lake). The cabin was very clean and up to date, although the carpet was a bit "crunchy." Since the host asks that shoes be removed at the doorway, I would be sure to bring slippers if we stay here again.
Communication with the host is via VRBO portal only, which is disconcerting if there is an emergency, but the host responded promptly when we had an issue at check in. A blown circuit meant that the heater had not been working for some time and the cabin was close to ambient temperature (50s) when we arrived. The wood for the wood stove is stored outside under a tarp which had blown away in the rain, so there was no usable wood. The owner had two space heaters handy, though, so the night wasn't miserable. We fixed the heater the next day. Overall, a very serviceable place to crash while visiting family in the area. And huge appreciation to the host for having the foresight to stock heaters!
