"Willow Cottage was our first stop on a 5-week holiday in UK/Ireland. We found the cottage amazing & suited our needs perfectly. We parked our car when we got there & did not move it until we left. We could walk to everywhere we wanted to go, even to the railway station to catch a train into Cambridge for the day. (Punt on the River Cam) The Ely Cathedral is a must see. "We absolutely loved our stay at The Green! The cottage is beautiful with its thatched roof, ceiling beams and big fireplace. "The house is very spacious and well equipped. The spiral staircase up to the two bedrooms is very steep and narrow, this could prevent some less able people accessing this area. It is too steep for younger children without very close supervision. The location of the house is very peaceful, great for a relaxing time together."

"We stayed at Blackbarn Wood for a week in June - it’s small but works for a single family. Quiet and cosy. Amazing views over the field and woods. I would recommend. Only niggling point is that the springs for the beds in the kids room were super creaky - so struggled to sleep in that room as every time I moved in the night the noise woke me up."

"Phil and Jan have created a lovely place to relax and enjoy. You feel like you are in the country but are right near anything you may need. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, the sitting room was nice and the kitchen/dining room were filled with anything you would need for your stay. "Only spent a couple of nights here but could definitely have stayed longer. Cottage has everything you need for a self catering holiday. The owners are really helpful and none intrusive. Complimentary wine and fresh bread are a lovely touch.(bread definitely a winner) Property is very handy for Ely and Cambridge. Use the park and ride for Cambridge. It's good value and cheaper than parking in the centre."

"This is a lovely, spacious and well-appointed house. It was too hot to make best use of the duvets, but the beds were very comfortable. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery - and a dishwasher to avoid the washing up. The powered recliners were especially welcome after a day of much walking. Naturally there is quite a lot of farm activity in the area, but it was far enough away not to be intrusive, and the people on the farm were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a property to remember."

The only big missing item was that the property info, and the reservation, don't actually say where you are supposed to check in when you get there. If you don't know the British house system, you don't know that the Porter's Lodge is the place to check in to a college. I and about a dozen other, independent guests, all wandered around the property trying to figure out where to check in. You should have this information prominantly in your hotel...
