"We used this as a stop over on way to the Alps. This was our 2nd time staying here. A very easy, safe and nice hotel. Does exactly what we needed it to. "

"The rooms are old and in need of an update. We only had nets at the window, no curtains to stop the morning light. One of the bedside lights was not working. The website advertised at evening restaurant, this is now no longer open."

"Pleasant campsite helpful English speaking reception staff. Pool was very busy so didn't use it. Nearest village was shut for food as it was a Sunday but bar on site did buffet style hot and cold food only here for 1 night so it served it's purpose. Bring your own mugs if you like a morning cuppa. They only doini coffee cups"

"A rustic luxe property with superb service in grand European style. The grounds are beautiful and the spa is fabulous. The chef’s menu choices in the restaurant are masterfully prepared and served with grace and elegance along with a lovely selection of wines. This is a place to lose yourself in decadent pampering and peace. Thank you, Château de Bagnols, for a delightful experience. "

"Fabulous hotel in the heart of Burgundy. I stayed in the annexe, just around the corner from the hotel, but in a quiet street. The room was amazing, I sat room, really comfortable bed, separate room with sofa and tv, amazing shower room with separate toilet. Dinner was superb, the cuisine is outstanding, a great wine list - and the owners are so friendly. It’s a great place to walk around and I’d definitely like to go again. Thank you for a brilliant stay. "

"The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The restaurant was very expensive and the male staff miserable. The hotel was nice and in a lovely old building. Dining room was rather formal and modern for the age of the building and the breakfast, although adequate would have been better if buffet style. Whole thing rather clinical. "

"The only thing I would suggest is that they check their a/c, they worked but they were turned up during the day and when we returned we had to lower the temperature down and it took time to cool down. Otherwise really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure."

"Beautiful property in a quiet but convenient area. Lovely spacious rooms, which were impeccable. Real bonus to have the heated swimming pool in November. Staff were very gracious and accommodating. A few improvements to suggest: maybe some hotel and area information in the rooms would be good; the ‘international TV channels’ advertised aren’t accessible (not an issue for us, but some people may be expecting these); reorganisation of the breakfast area - it’s a stunning setting but quite chaotic due to lack of space between tables and food self service areas. Overall, a beautiful, well maintained hotel, good value and worth the effort of the funicular to Fourvière. We would definitely return here. "
