"What a wonderful stay - the room was comfortable and chic with strong AC, a comfort bed, and a nice bathroom. The rooftop bar and pool were lovely with amazing views of the ocean. Benjamin and the other staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location was great - right in the heart of Stone Town. I highly recommend it! "

"Though a little away from things and I somehow got lost every single time I set foot outside, I did enjoy staying here. The pool was delightful and the A/C was a lifesaver. Staff was very good and helpful (e.g. immediately dealt with a blown fuse when I told them about it), but it should be noted that I think they spoke less English than the property advertised (I REALLY should have used Google translate to explain what was going on with the previously mentioned blown fuse). "I stayed here one night after landing in stone town. Perfect spot to nap on and off to get through the jet lag and be right in the heart of stone town. Extremely walkable to sites. The rooms are spacious, excellent shower and super comfy bed. Very clean and was just what I was looking for. Please note that it was a bit difficult to find. The taxi just dropped me off on the main road because cars can’t access the small streets. Once you know where it is, it’s super simple to return to"

"Adelina was a great host - It was my husbands birthday (&& i wasn't able to be present), she was very helpful with surprising him and making his birthday successful . She was also helpful with transportation and accommodating our needs . The place was clean and looked just like the picture presented . "

"I stayed one night, next morning the smell of sewerage from the bathroom drain was horrendous. I left the hotel immediately . The stairs to the top floors are steep & dangerous . Not a pleasant experience ."

"PLEASE BE AWARE. This place overbooks clients so when you arrive they say there is NO reservation under your name. Then they send you to another location of much lower quality. People at the new location confirmed that they do this all the time. It is not a mistake but rather a scam. I left that second location and was lucky to find a nice hotel nearby for the same price. I did get a refund but most people will probably stay where they are forced to stay due to lack of options and uncertainty. I...

"We used Stone Town as a home base to explore Zanzibar, and we would highly recommend it since there are a lot of restaurants and things to do while the beaches are still only a one hour ride away and make for a nice day trip. "They property had beautiful views and access to beach at low tide. Was a remote location with a rough road to access it. They should specify that it is a alcohol free resort. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the quiet and views."

"I loved everything about this property. The hospitality of the staff in all areas, the open lay out of the property and proximity of dining to the ocean, the clean and beautiful rooms, and the quality and variety of food options at the breakfast buffet. The property is perfectly located at walking distance to shops, restaurants and main markets. I would definitely stay here again without a doubt. A big thank you to Tembo House!!!"

"A wonderful gem in Zanzibar. I can’t recommend this place enough, beautiful, tranquil, delicious food and clean comfortable bedrooms. It was the perfect few days I needed. The hotel is also very helpful in organising excursions, spa treatments etc . Would recommend to anyone. "
