"This little hotel is a nice step back in time to the turn of the last century. Everything is quite simple, but provided for. There's a front desk cage that isn't occupied, but you just call and a friendly person will check you in. Upstairs, there's a nice Fennimore history book, along with the "Coffee Shop" that has what you need to make coffee in your room, along with tea. Also provided are earplugs in case you're staying street-side (Highway 61). I didn't use the earplugs as the traffic dies down into the evening and night time. I was street-side and when I heard it, it was more like the quiet hum of car going by. The rooms aren't the generic hotel rooms you'd stay in within a city or suburb, uniquely old hotel. The only out-of-place accoutrement (other than modern basics like TV, microwave, coffeemaker) is the chuegy box on top of the toilets. Everything else gives a nice feel for 1905. If you're passing through town and need a place to stay, this is a good choice."

"A few hours after checking into the VRBO on Friday, there was a mechanical issue in the house related to the extreme cold weather which could have ruined our entire weekend; however, the property owner promptly got someone on sight first thing Saturday morning, determined the issue couldn't be fixed immediately, found a property within 1 mile where we could stay for no additional fee, AND gave us a refund. Kelsey went above and beyond to make things right and I so very much appreciate it! She saved our weekend!I would definitely stay here again."

"Walked into a 45 degree room that took four hours to heat up, window sills and walls by shower are filthy, sign in elevator says no continental breakfast on fri/sat/sun but they had one, no garbage can in breakfast area, broken outlet cover in breakfast area, bottom safety handle in shower not attached, bathroom fan quit working, not enough signage in the bldg to find the lobby We stayed here one year ago and had none of these problems, they are letting it go downhill"
