"Our family group of eight adults, two children and two dogs enjoyed a weekend but the house is so well equipped we could easily have stayed longer. Plenty of space for everyone and very comfortable. The house manager Theresa could not have been more helpful. We’d like to return."

"Enjoyed the weekend at Wauchope Cottage. Perfect location to explore the coast and Galloway forest area of SW Scotland. House is super clean and much more room than we expected. The grounds are gorgeous and we loved walking around. It would be nice if there was an opportunity to visit the castle to see the inside. This is a fairly remote property, so be prepared to drive to anything you need. But so quiet and peaceful."

"There was a Christmas tree and decorations which made the house feel quite festive. The house was very comfortable and warm with plenty of space for the family of 5 adults and a dog. The facilities were a bit mixed - The living room tv was not working but this was sorted quite quickly. The kitchen is great to cook in but could do with another fridge or wine cooler as only a standard under worktop one provided. Not quite enough for lots of food and drinks. "Bird watchers paradise, 14 different types of bird in one morning. The cottage was perfect, the hosts where friendly and informative. The user manual was extremely comprehensive. There was every thing you need in the form of utensils. With comfy beds. Well positioned for everything we wanted to do. Dumfries House is a joy to visit, the Isle of Arran, beautiful, don’t bother taking a car over just use the buses to get right around the island. So many superlatives to use about our week and not one...

"Caravan was comfortable and was OK for the couple of nights we stayed However some half used items of food had been left in the fridge and the furnishings were a little worn. Caravan and bed were creaky although this was mainly down to the high winds the weekend we were there."

"The tea towel for drying dishes was absolutely stinking of dampness, obviously wasn't clean! There was no kitchen roll so had to use one of the bath towels - it also had dirty marks on. The livingroom/sitting area was stinking of dogs. The plug-in air freshener was empty. Couldn't figure out how to use the grill."
