Marhaba Hotel Aswan
3/5 Okay
"It was one night family stay in Marhaba Hotel. The staff was amazing, extremly kind, very helpful. We loved the swimming pool, my kids enjoyed it very much. The food served for breakfast was local, so if someone is not keen on it and wants something more " European ", unfortunately the choice is very limited.
The hotel is situated right next to a very noisy road and there is some building/ renovation work going on on the side. As we were led to our room, it appeared the air-conditioning was faulty . It had a large balcony with the view on the Nile ( and the road as well, which you dont see looking at the profile pictures on the webside) . We were moved to another room, with a working air-conditioning but a tiny side balcony facing building side. We were not happy with that so the management offered 2 smaller rooms including one for smokers ( the smell of cigarettes was very strong, ash tray in the room) As we travelled as a family with 2 autistics kids, we insisted on one room. There was no other choice, only the family room without view, with a tiny balcony facing a wall and building side., even thought we had paid for a big family room with a view on the Nile. I understand, that the hotel is situated next to a dusty , busy road, , but the level of dust in the room was unacceptable. The toilet was dirty with unpleasant brownish marks.
Unfortunately, we had an awful, noisy night. "
