"Located a few miles from our family cabin, I'm so thankful I found the Oar House for the weekends when a LOT of family is up at the cabin! It was a great place for my kids and I to stay. I had trouble with the keypad, but the owner was able to unlock the door remotely, and then I used the key for the front door the rest of the time. The beds were comfortable and that shower head was AMAZING! I will be checking for availability here in the future when we need an overflow place to stay when...

"House was cozy and comfortable. Off-street parking and close to many sites: Penn State, Everett RR, and Horseshoe Curve. Also close to numerous local restaurants: John&George’s, Al’s Tavern and Stone Cellar. Would recommend all three. Overall, nice house and location. Would stay there again."

"We had a phenomenal time at Alan’s mountain home. We skied 2 days, we easily walked to the lift and came home for lunch and went back out. It is so nice to not have to get in your car with the gear. The house is huge and had everything we needed. We had 3 families with young children and we all slept well, felt safe and made amazing family memories. "The Yellow House is adorable, perfectly appointed, and clean and tidy. We loved it! From the fresh milk and cookies waiting for us on arrival to the easy and friendly communication with Rachel, the owner and manager, we wouldn’t have changed a thing. The beds are comfy, and little details are great- like bedside lights that turn on with just a tap and power outlets right in the night tables. At the end of a long day, we all appreciated the couch and loveseat where all of the seats reclined! "

"The pictures present this property accurately. Comfortable place to stay. We were visiting for football game at Penn State which is only 40 minutes drive away. Enjoyed food and bars in Altoona which is very close."

"We enjoyed our stay. The host was very responsive to all of our questions and was very prompt with anything we needed! On VRBO it’s listed as entire home but there were people staying above us. They never bothered us but just something to consider. The home is a weird layout but the host has but lots of touches on it to make it very homey! It is perfectly situated outside of society but close enough to get in some shopping and sight seeing! The coffee selection was an incredible touch! "

I Highly recommend finding the house in the daylight. Charlene was sweet enough to leave us Staples in the refrigerator and muffins and fruit for our arrival. I highly recommend this home "
