"Staying in and among buildings in a village settled in 1067, clinging to a steep mountain wall, seemed to connect us deeply to the history and geography of South France. Tricky to find, even with the help of some good men in St Andre de Vizines, the effort was exponentially rewarded. Of our 1800+ kilometer drive to visit alps, a bridge, a cave, and a city of lights, our stay in St. Andre keeps emerging as a true highlight."

"Good location for visiting the western Cevennes, basic accomodation that was comfortable for two. It could get a bit noisy in late afternoon and early evening but the view was stunning. Parking occasionaly awkward and the steps up to the cottage could be difficult for some."

"Gite agréable pour 2 adultes + 2 "grands" enfants (escalier raide) situé au hameau de Régagnas à 4,5km du village de Campestre, sur le Causse de éponyme, et à 8km de la 1ère épicerie. De la nature à perte de vue. Idéal pour se ressourcer et se déconnecter sans être totalement coupé du monde (attention point de Wi-Fi mais il y a de la 4G!). "An amazing place to stay. Very peaceful, with beautiful grounds and, of course, the clear river and its many pools for bathing. The wooden terrace, where we ate all our evening meals, was like being in a giant treehouse. Our little grandson loved to watch all the trees. "Hier passt alles. Die Ferienwohnung hat alles, was man braucht. Ruhige Lage, schöner großer Pool. André ist ein wirklich sehr netter Gastgeber. Im Ort Aumessas gibt es einiges zu sehen und gute Pizza (zum Abholen). Es ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in den Cevennen. Zum Einkaufen muss man auch nicht weit fahren. "We (2 adults, 1 child) stayed at the Gite d’Emma for a very hot week in August. The gite is very modern and very well equipped with everything you could need. "The gite is well equipped and is good sized for a couple. The two stand-outs for me were: The picture south-facing window, so had wonderful light and an incredible view that changed through the day: The downstairs bedroom which stayed cool even with 30c days. It's great location to explore the Cevennes and further south into the Herault. The area is astonishing and should be better known.
