"3 families (6 adults and 7 kids) stayed here for one week. Great house, very well maintained and Lina is a fabulous host. Brilliant pool and games area and house well kitted out. Given location, would definitely recommend having a car for trips to town/beach/supermarket etc. Lovely touch providing breakfast every morning and extra (paid for) meals were tasty and good value. All in all, very good."

"The villa is amazing. All amenities included, except WiFi. There is an odd request for £50 for this after we booked. The WiFi doesn’t reach upstairs. The pool and gardens are regularly maintained and are beautiful. The view is stunning. It’s an out of the way location, so peaceful but you need a car. Many beaches a short drive away. The villa is well managed and any requests were dealt with immediately. Definitely recommend a stay here for a peaceful holiday."

"Overall loved the place. There were a few niggles like the garden lights being intentionally turned off detracting from the atmosphere, penny-pinching in the extreme. "This is a beautiful villa, very modern and perfect for a family holiday. The pool isn’t too deep and is the same depth throughout so perfect for children. "This villa in the mountains above Plakia was beautiful. I stayed here with four friends and it was amazing. We were welcomed by one of the women who cleans. She gave us a tour of the place and had a homemade cake for us!! Then a few days later, delivered another one. The Villa is very clean, has a nice pool, a great charcoal grill and dining area outside. There are little beaches down the road, and major beaches with in drivable distance. It is very close to beachfront restaurants and shops."

"Villa Althaea was perfect, very clean, had everything and more you could possibly need. Loved the extra touches including a homemade lunch and cake left by the owner of the property welcoming us to Greece. So nice to have our very own private pool. Very sad to leave this beautiful villa. Only 1 restaurant within walking distance, so took a taxi to the beautiful Rethymno old town where there was loads of great restaurants and bars."

"Very secluded location. Villa worked well for us as a party of 16 as it is laid out as 4 separate apartments. Villa owner very helpful and allowed us to set up a communal kitchen. During our stay the owner responded promptly to any request e.g. repair of basketball hoop for the kids! Plenty of supermarkets in nearby Perama. Good beaches within 20-30 minutes drive. Would recommend at least a day in Rethymno - water sports and Old Town."

Took a few trips to be comfortable with the drive; recommend a SUB rental.Communication with owner and house manager was on point. Owner provided detailed directions, as per location and surrounding areas. However, still have to be careful with GPS directions as it can take you areas that are not suitable for tourist driving. We had a wonderful family trip, and would recommend Villa Cassandra!"

"We were made welcome as soon as we arrived. A food “basket” was waiting upon our arrival which was plenty for the 8 of us until we could go shopping the next day. The property was very spacious and clean. Helen the cleaner came in every 2/3 days to clean the Villa, change beds and towels. We had a fantastic stay and was made to feel welcome from the owner as soon as we arrived. Such a beautiful island with lots to see. Would definitely go back."
